A unique remix contest with MXP4 and Passion Pit

By Yannick Kryk, the 13 May 2009

At this time, groups like to give the floor to the public (see the article on Indochine, March 21). But usually it is to make a clip, a disc sleeve, etc.. Here it’s the music of the group Passion Pit that fans can remix their sauce.

The group Passion Pit Boston has launched a worldwide original remix contest using as muscial interface a widget developed by the French startup MXP4 .

For this contest, the group decided to offer fans the chance to play with excerpts from “Little Secrets”, before the release of their next album on 19 May. MXP4 has created for the occasion a widget dedicated to the band.

Thanks to MXP4 technology , fans can get different extracts, compose their own song, share different parts between participants, that is to say, having fun with the composition with only their imagination as a limit.
The results must then be published on the website and it is the fans that choose their favorite by voting from 10 to 15 May The group will then take the hand to choose five remix to be released on a vinyl version of the song.
