Homer the new informating voice of SNCF … on April, the 1st only!

You may have had the chance to hear it and you may still not believe it! Yes … In place of the traditional SNCF female voice was Homer Simpson’s, who was there as guest to guide users! A quite nice joke and ….participatory!

What relationship with participatory marketing, you may say?

Well, everything is based on a group created on Facebook. Members of this group wanted the SNCF female voice to be sacked and replaced by Homer Simpson. And they won! The 140 000 members are still flabbergasted.
This is obviously the actor Philippe Pethieu, who is in french dubbing of the character, that took part of the joke. SNCF felt that the idea was very original and well suited to 1st April.

At the sight of  the reactions of users, why not permanently keep Homer? It creates obviously a good atmosphere in the stations. A beautiful image for SNCF, isn’t it?
