Ouï love participatory marketing
Ouï FM, recently acquired by the french anchor Arthur, seems to want to bring itself closer of its listeners. According to the new owner, “[Yes FM wishes ] to step forward to the radio of tomorrow and to create a community of listeners”. Indeed, jumping in participatory marketing with both feet, the competition is launched in conjunction with a talent quest, in partnership with Myspace. Launched on 2nd of March and set up until June, Ouï love Myspace aims to discover the hidden talents among the 25,000 groups present on Myspace. Main lines: the group sends its broadcasting license and a clash is launched on the dedicated Myspace. Internet users are asked to vote and the winner will be scheduled during the show, broadcast from Monday to Thursday from 6pm to 8pm, Friday being reserved for the grand finale of the week.
Ouï or No
The participatory approach of Yes FM seems to be sincere. Firstly, because it doesn’t propose a common contest, it’s also proposing to create content to sustain the radio. Furthermore, this approach is perfectly suited to the spirit of radio, freedom and rock, which serves a population nostalgic and emotionally linked to the medium. Finally the process is complete, it is intended to both emerging bands and listeners.
